Sarah Jane is responsible for assisting clients with the development and execution of a strategic plan for their charitable giving. Such assistance includes establishment of the proper donor structure as well as analysis of potential grantees from the standpoint of fiscal soundness and mission fit.

Previous Industry Experience

Independent consultant to not-for-profit organizations (2004-Present). Researches potential funding sources and assists with proposal preparation and submission.
Goodcity and its predecessor organization, MidAmerica Leadership Foundation (1998-2004). Sarah Jane, as Director of Development, worked closely with the Board of Directors, serving as staff liaison to the Development Committee. Responsibilities included major donor cultivation, foundation and corporate funding, annual giving, direct mail, newsletters, brand and web site development. She conducted workshops and one-on-one consultations in all areas of resource development thus increasing capacity and sustainability of emerging non-profits.
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (1991-1998). Sarah Jane served as a key member of the fundraising team in a statewide organization. She led the foundation process for the entire agency and the fundraising effort for the Behavioral Health Network, one of the largest divisions of the agency.
Sarah Jane is a member of the Board of Directors of Goodcity and chairs the Development Committee.
Serves as co-chair of DePauw University's Indiana Asbury Legacy Society.
Member of the Midwest Task Force of the national Self-Development of People Committee of the Presbyterian Church USA.
Co-chair of the Chicago Presbytery Self-Development of People Committee of the Presbyterian Church USA.
Ruling Elder of Southminster Presbyterian Church.

Academic

BA degree in English Literature from DePauw University in 1969.
Masters degree in Education from the University of Alaska in 1972.
